Hi everyone!
It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged and I do apologize for the delay, however, I had a few adjustments/improvements made to the site which took longer than I had anticipated. I’m hoping to get things back on track and to begin blogging on a weekly basis once again.
So what have I been doing that might interest you? Well, I went down to Florida a few weeks ago, to train with my cousin who is an accomplished triathtlete (including a few ironmans) and her husband, who is a former 4x road racing olympian. I was a little nervous about cycling with them even though I have been training weekly on my trainer and teaching numerous weekly spin classes. Fortunately, they train smart and because this is the off season, none of us were looking to drop a lung or two out there. We focused on steady riding, in and around zone 3, (medium intensity), or a heart rate zone of about 75%-85% of MHR. I felt strong and energized out there, and was so pleased that all of my indoor rides had really paid off. Instead of treadmill running, we enjoyed long, easy runs on hard packed red sand, in an orange grove. That’s my idea of heaven!
I have lots to share from my week there, including proper nutrition both pre and during workouts, lasting longer than an hour. What a difference it makes inyour performance!
For now though, I’m just glad to be back and hope all of you have been well and are strong, healthy and happy!
I’ll be back soon with loads of good info, recipes and pics. I promise!
