I’m Back!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged and I do apol­o­gize for the delay, how­ever, I had a few adjustments/​improvements made to the site which took longer than I had antic­i­pated. I’m hop­ing to get things back on track and to begin blog­ging on a weekly basis once again.

So what have I been doing that might inter­est you? Well, I went down to Florida a few weeks ago, to train with my cousin who is an accom­plished triathtlete (includ­ing a few iron­mans) and her hus­band, who is a for­mer 4x road rac­ing olympian. I was a lit­tle ner­vous about cycling with them even though I have been train­ing weekly on my trainer and teach­ing numer­ous weekly spin classes. For­tu­nately, they train smart and because this is the off sea­son, none of us were look­ing to drop a lung or two out there. We focused on steady rid­ing, in and around zone 3, (medium inten­sity), or a heart rate zone of about 75%-85% of MHR. I felt strong and ener­gized out there, and was so pleased that all of my indoor rides had really paid off. Instead of tread­mill run­ning, we enjoyed long, easy runs on hard packed red sand, in an orange grove. That’s my idea of heaven!

I have lots to share from my week there, includ­ing proper nutri­tion both pre and dur­ing work­outs, last­ing longer than an hour. What a dif­fer­ence it makes iny­our performance!

For now though, I’m just glad to be back and hope all of you have been well and are strong, healthy and happy!
