Hi everyone,
I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in awhile. I guess you could say life got in the way but then again, we’re all busy and that’s really no excuse. So what’s new and exciting in my world? What’s different since the last time you visited? In short, not too much!
I’ve stepped up my running and have been feeling really good lately. That is, until about a week ago, when my sacro-illiac joint on my right side decided it wasn’t very happy. I woke up one morning to a burning sensation deep in the joint, which is location right at the top of the glutes, on either side of the spine. I iced, stretched and rolled and although I found temporary relief, nothing seemed to permanently relieve the pain. That is, until I began to practice yoga daily. I searched the web and thankfuly found a few youtube videos that have really made a difference not only with my SI joint pain but my hips, back and hamstrings, specifically, have become noticeably looser and more open.
If you’re not able to devote about 30 minutes a day to stretching, I recommend you choose a few poses that target your problem areas and commit to spending a good 10 – 15 minutes on the mat.
