Hi everyone,
Hope you all survived that nasty day of weather yesterday. Yuck. I had to literally wring out my socks at the end of the day, after tredging through the slush and snow downtown. Is spring ever going to come???
Today, I would like to talk to you a bit about the Paleo Diet and what I’ve recently learned about it. What exactly is the paleo way of eating, you might ask? Well, to put it simply, it’s returning back to the diet of the caveman; one that consists solely of lean protein, eggs, vegetables, nuts (in moderation), seeds and fruit (again, in moderation). Dairy, grains, legumes and sugar (for the most part) are strictly forbidden.
Hi there,
Hope you all had a great day!
I thought I’d share with you a few yummy recipes that I’ve enjoyed in the last few days. I’m always looking to bring some new, healthy and delicious food ideas to my daily meal plans. As you already know, I’m a complete peanut butter addict. In fact, any nut butter makes me swoon with delight. So, with that in mind, I decided that I was tired of shelling out mucho dollars on peanut and almond butter (my two faves), and figured, why not make some myself? I mean really, how hard could it be when the only ingredient is the nut (or legume, excuse me!) Anyways, it seriously was as easy as pie.
Happy Family Day! Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful sunny day!
I started my day with a packed spin class; what a great way to start the day. After a much needed hot shower, I sucked back a frosty protein shake and a big bowl of steaming steel cut oats. Yum!
Hi all,
Hope you had a great day! My day started with a quick 10k on the treadmill, keeping as fast a pace as possible for the duration, save for the 8 minute warm-up. I’m planning on running the Toronto Half Marathon in May so long as I can keep my hips in good condition. They tend to get unhappy around the 15k mark but we shall see. I’m taking the training slowly, with just one long run/week and increasing my mileage gradually. I’d like to do a few triathalons, hopefully olympic distance in the summer, but I haven’t had my butt in the pool all winter so I better start swimming asap! I enjoy setting specific goals or challenges so that I have something to work towards and all the training helps to keep me sharp. If you’ve never done a race of any kind, I’d encourage you to try one. You don’t need to be a high-level athlete to participate and honestly, they’re really fun! (so long as you’re prepared going in).
