Hi there,
I often tell my clients that in order to get healthy and lose unwanted pounds, the first thing they must do is reduce (not eliminate) white or refined sugars from their daily diet. I refer to sugar quite frequently, as poison or a drug, because the more we consume it, the more our bodies crave it. Once we remove most of it from our diet (restricting it to very infrequent times such as special occasions or just when we REALLY WANT something yummy), the cravings will disappear and we will go for long periods of time without ever wanting it again.
Hi everyone,
Hope you’re enjoying your Thanksgiving. Remember, leftovers are just, if not more, delicious the next day! You really don’t need to eat EVERYTHING tonight.…There’s always tomorrow.
Just thought I’d share this link about back pain with you. I’m sure many, if not all of you, have struggled with nagging aches and pains in the back. Whether it’s somewhere along the thoracic spine or down further into the lumbar region, back pain can be debilitating. I really like this sequence of exercises and have found them to be very helpful in both relieving and preventing back pain when performed daily. It only takes a few minutes and when done consistently, can really alleviate stiffness and pain. Give them a try and let me know what you think.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi everyone,
Just thought I’d share with you my new favourite breakfast food.…oat bran!
I know, it doesn’t sound all that exciting, but let me tell you, it’s so yummy!!
I was getting kind of bored with my big bowl of oats every morning and I happened to come upon an article praising the nutritional goodness of oat bran. All I did was simmer 1⁄2 cup of oat bran in 1 cup almond milk and 3⁄4 cup of water. It cooks really quickly, about 3 minutes and it’s done. I added some cinnamon and a sprinkle of splenda and it was awesome! My daughter also made the switch!

Have a great weekend!!
Hi there,
Hope you’re enjoying this glorious day! I can’t believe the summer is almost over.…
Just thought I’d share an article which I read last night, while searching for some information on injury prevention, specific to running. I have been feeling pretty good these days but I figured it couldn’t hurt to try and incorporate some sport specific strengthening exercises and stretches. I went through most of them this morning and I was surprised at how difficult a few of them were for me. It definitely raised a couple of red flags. One for certain, is that I need to strengthen my glute medius (top of hip/outer glute area) and calves…big time.
Hi everyone,
Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful weekend weather!
Just thought I’d share a link with you that I found to be very helpful while dealing with sciatic pain. It’s a practice called nerve flossing and it’s it really helped to calm that shooting pain when a simple position such as sitting, was terribly uncomfortable. I found that by doing these simple exercises on a daily basis, I was feeling much better in just a few days. If you’ve ever suffered with sciatic pain, then I’m pretty sure you’d have tried just about anything to relieve it.
Give these exercises a go and let me know what you think.
Happy Sunday!
